ZEN FOTO GALLERY

Born in Korea, Seung-Woo Yang first came to Japan in 1996. After graduating from Nippon Photography Institute and the photography department of Tokyo Polytechnic University, he completed his graduate research in Media Art at Tokyo Polytechnic University and continued his career in Japan. In 2016, his publication “Shinjuku Lost Child” with Zen Foto Gallery, a monochrome street photography series which focused on the people at Kabukicho, Shinjuku received the 36th Domon Ken Award. He also released “End of the Line - Kotobukicho” with Zen Foto Gallery in 2017 and had his solo exhibition in inbetween gallery, Paris, expanding his activities internationally. His other publications so far include “You’re there and I’m here” (Shinpusha, 2006), “You’re there and I’m here 2” (Zen Foto Gallery, 2011), “The Best Days” (Zen Foto Gallery, 2012), “The Best Days” new edition (Zen Foto Gallery, 2019), "The Last Cabaret" (Zen Foto Gallery, 2020), "Yang-Taro Baka-Taro" (Zen Foto Gallery, 2021), "TEKIYA" (Zen Foto Gallery, 2022), "Baggage" (Zen Foto Gallery, 2023) and "TFW KOREA".

Born in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, in 1970, Hoshi has been exhibiting his street photography, mainly of alleyways in downtown areas, since the late 1990s. He currently shoots mainly in Roppongi, Yokohama and Nishinari in Osaka. In 2018, he won the Society of Photography Society Award for his 2017 photography collection Whistle, published by Little Big Man. In 2023, he was selected for the Tokyo Photographic Art Museum's “Contemporary Japanese Photography Vol. 20: Leap Before You Look”. He exhibited a retrospective of his career, including his latest works. His photography books include Luminance of Streets (Galleria Q, 2007), Whistle (Little Big Man, 2017) , Shinjuku 1999–2008 (Zen Foto Gallery, 2024), Tokyo Trippy (Zen Foto Gallery, 2025) and Nishinari (graficamag, 2025). His work is held in the collections of the Kiyosato Photo Art Museum and the Tokyo Photographic Art Museum.

Brian Sergio (Filipino, b.1980) is a Photographer, Painter, and Graphic Designer. He studied painting at the University of the Philippines College of Fine Arts in 2002. Trained as a painter and a conceptual artist, he had a few local group exhibitions between 2000 to 2008 and worked as a Graphic Designer and Art Director in a couple of advertising firms, before deciding to focus on Photography full-time. His solo exhibitions as a photographer includes ‘Pak!’ (2014) at Galerie Astra, in Makati and ‘Kidultery’ (2011) at West Gallery in Quezon City, Philippines.

Sergio's work has often been described as raw, transgressive, and irreverent. His method has always been about energy and movement; taking a gamble, getting involved, and going with the flow without diffidence.

In 2017, He released his 1st book called "Pak" published by Dienacht Publishing. The book was based on a collective rebellion against inhibitions and acceptable behavior, an attempt to expose the world behind the façade that most Filipinos aspire to.

Sergio currently lives and works in Manila, Philippines.
